8 People Beloved to Allah – Are You Among Them?

Within the month  of Ramadan, it’s the best time to look into the lives of those who were really beloved to allah and inculcate their virtues in our lives.

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), the most beloved  to Allah, lived in humility, charity, and unshakeable faith. He donated freely, assisted the needy, and never for his own benefit. Even when the Quraish offered him wealth and authority in return for forsaking his mission, he declined, opting for Allah’s satisfaction over material reward.

Those who are really beloved to allah are characterized by their piety, sympathy, and submission. During these Ramadan days, let us be like them and give, serve others, and deepen our belief.

As Ramadan comes to an end, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the lives of those who were truly beloved to allah and embody their virtues in our own lives.

1. Taqwa (Piety and God-Consciousness)

Allah says in the Qur’an:

Indeed, the most honorable of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous among you.” (Surah Al-Hujurat: 13)

Taqwa, or God-consciousness, is a quality of those who are beloved to Allah. It implies living with the awareness that Allah is watching everything, obeying His command, and avoiding sin. Whoever possesses strong taqwa places faith above worldly temptation and continues to seek the approval of Allah through good deeds and sincere repentance.

The individuals who have taqwa in Islam are among those most beloved to allah and are blessed with beautifully enormous rewards, both in this life and the hereafter. By making our iman strong, by doing more acts of worship, and by adhering to the teachings of the Qur’an and Sunnah, we become the most beloved to Allah.

2. Those with Good Character

The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) stated:

“The best among you are those who have the best character.” (Bukhari)

Good character is one of the most important characteristics of the ones who are beloved to Allah. It comprises virtues like honesty, kindness, patience, humility, and compassion. An individual who behaves with others in a respectful and honest manner not only gains the love of humans but also gains Allah’s love and blessings.

Good manners (Akhlaq) in Islam are as essential as worship. The Prophet (ﷺ) was sent to achieve moral excellence, and whoever follows his way in everyday dealings draws nearer to Allah. Through practicing patience during trials, telling the truth, and being kind to others, we become like those who are beloved  to Allah.

3. Those Who Benefit Others are beloved to allah

The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) narrated:

“The most beloved people to Allah are the most beneficial people to other people.” (At-Tabarani)

Assisting others is one of the greatest means of becoming  beloved to Allah. Islam teaches that the highest achievement is selflessness, generosity, and being a good role model in human life. Charity, advice, or simply common good deeds—being a cause of goodness to humanity makes us stronger in our belief and brings us closer to the love of Allah.

The best exhibit of this is the Prophet (ﷺ) himself, who was totally committed to other people’s services, serving the poor, and enriching the people. When we care for the orphans, feed the poor, and provide sound counsel, we are relating to values that render someone precious to Allah.

By doing something intentionally for the benefit of mankind, we fulfill one of the most rewarding aspects of Islam and become closer to being among those who are beloved to Allah.

4. Those Who Establish Prayer

The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) was questioned about the most beautiful acts of Allah, and he replied:

“A prayer said in its time.” (Bukhari)

Salah (prayer) is the center of a Muslim’s relationship with Allah. It is not a practice or a ritual but a personal relationship with our Creator that results in peace, guidance, and spiritual cleansing. They who pray at the right times sincerely and zealously earn the favor and  become beloved to Allah.

Prayer is an indication of taqwa (God-consciousness) and submission. Prayer solidifies faith, calms the mind, and guards against sin. If a person offers persistent prayers, then he or she is among Allah’s, since it is an indication of control, thankfulness, and trust in Him.

5. Those Who Give Charity

Allah in the Quran says:

“Certainly, Allah loves those who do good.” (Surah Al-Baqarah: 195)

Charity (Sadaqah) is a very effective way of gaining the love of Allah. It reflects a lot about the humanness, concern, and sincerity of a believer. Charity given in the way of Allah not only benefits the poor individuals but also cleanses the soul, multiplies blessings, and takes one to a higher level of spirituality.

The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) was the most generous person, particularly during the month of Ramadan. He illustrated that every act of charity, however little, such as a smile or a glass of water, is considered charity. Selfless giving for the sake of Allah places people among Allah’s dearest people.

6. Those Who Trust in Allah (Tawakkul)

Allah says in the Qur’an:

“Surely, Allah loves those who put their trust in Him.” (Surah Aal-e-Imran: 159)

Tawakkul (trust in Allah) is a very strong type of faith. It is holding on to one’s complete faith in Allah’s will and doing what is required to achieve the desired outcome. They who have full faith in Allah’s wisdom, mercy, and decree become among Allah’s beloved ones.

Tawakkul is not laziness—it is working and having faith that Allah will do His best. It brings peace to the heart, eliminates fear, and sustains resistance to ordeals.

7. Those Who Repent Frequently

In the Quran Allah says

“Certainly, Allah welcomes those who purify themselves and those who change their minds again and again.” (Surah AlBaqarah: 222)

Tawbah, repentance, is the most powerful way to earn Allah’s love. Though all of humanity is subject to mistakes, Allah loves them if they sincerely repent toward Him. True repentance is not just asking for forgiveness but also regret, honest intention to change, and best effort toward improvement.

The sinless Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) would ask Allah for forgiveness more than 70 times a day. This highlights how important repentance is as a series of spiritual purification and God’s proximity.

8. Those Who Love for the Sake of Allah

The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said:

“Allah will say on the Day of Resurrection, ‘Where are those who used to love one another for My sake? Today, I will give them shade in My shade wherein there is no shade but mine.'” (Muslim)

To love others for the sake of Allah alone—without self-interest, prestige, or worldly advantage—is a trait that makes one dear to Allah. Such love is founded on faith, purity of intention, and the common objective of pleasing Allah.
