adminOn the occasion of Eid al-Adha last year, Children’s Aid with the support of our donors were able to help many impoverished families through their Qurbani initiative. Children’s Aid distributed meat in Qurbani program covering several countries was able to support Muslim families, orphans and widows, across the Islamic World so that they too could celebrate the festival of sacrifice.
Children’s Aid delivered meat to over 1500 needy families, widows and orphans by delivering fresh qurbani meat direct to the door of those in need. Our Qurbani initiative gave meat to vulnerable and needy brothers and sisters and promoted inclusion and a sense of community. The desire to help others brought together volunteers from a variety of backgrounds.
People of many colours, faiths, and nationalities collaborated to make sure that the spirit of Eid reached every home. In addition, the project gave the beneficiaries a sense of respect and dignity.
Children’s Aid made sure that the people who received the meat felt appreciated and cherished by carefully choosing premium animals and handling the sacrifice with reverence. It was about maintaining each person’s dignity and confirming their value as community members, not merely providing for their fundamental needs.
