Gaza Crisis 2025: How Children’s Aid in Palestine is Responding to the Devastation
As of March and April 2025, conditions in Gaza continue to be critical and heartbreaking. The area has seen some of the worst conflict in recent history. Children’s Aid in Palestine has been striving to assist the affected. With the breakdown of the ceasefire, hundreds of thousands of Palestinians have again had to leave their homes, including purported “safe zones.”
Over 50,000 Palestinians, primarily women and children, have been killed since October 2023, more than 114,700 injured, and an untold number missing. More than 1.9 million have been displaced, many repeatedly. Gaza’s health, water, and infrastructure systems are near collapse. Hospitals, schools, and homes have been destroyed.
The Role of Children’s Aid in Gaza
At Children’s Aid, we are convinced that every child, woman, and man should be accorded dignity, safety, and access to basic human needs. In spite of the overwhelming challenges on the ground, our team has been working hard to offer assistance to the people of Gaza throughout this crisis.
Here’s how we’ve responded in recent months:
Ramadan 2025 Relief Projects
Iftar Meals Distribution: During this Ramadan, Children’s Aid in Palestine was privileged to spread love by distributing thousands of iftar meals. We facilitated our brothers and sisters in Gaza so that they could break their fast with dignity and love. It was a small act of love amidst their most trying times, and they were reassured that they never stood alone.
Hot Meals Served: Hot meals were provided by Children’s Aid in Palestine to displaced families who had not had proper food for days. In the midst of their pain and loss, we wanted to give them not just food but also a sense of care and comfort in every meal that they received. Every meal reminded them that they are not forgotten — that humanity still has a place for them at their worst times.
Water Tank Distribution: In a precious lifeline to clean drinking water amid the ongoing blockade, Children’s Aid stepped in and distributed water tanks to different locations. Not just a source of access to clean drinking water, every tank was a relief, dignity, and hope for families barely scraping through. In a world where the most basic supplies are a gift, this act was the world to many.
Bread Distribution: Amidst general food scarcity at its peak, Children’s Aid in Palestine organized massive bread distributions in temporary camps and centers of refugee camps. For millions of families, this simple staple became the symbol of survival, comfort, and solidarity in their hour of need.
Ongoing Humanitarian Support and Children’s Aid in Palestine
Clean Water Access:
Since water facilities had been severely destroyed, it was hard for Children’s Aid to provide poor families with clean and safe drinking water.
Food Parcel Distribution:
We provided essential food parcels with rice, flour, lentils, and canned foods so that families could live in the face of debilitating food shortages.
Emergency Shelter Support:
To support the families who lost their homes, our teams offered emergency shelters and shelter items—items to provide them with a little sense of security in a war-torn country.
Basic Necessities Kits:
We distributed survival kits such as clothing, blankets, and hygienic items to provide displaced people with dignity and health during these hard times.
Starvation as a weapon of war is employed in Gaza today. The children are not only being bombed to death but also starved and dehydrated. Children’s Aid stands with Palestine and will continue to serve, support, and empower these innocent lives—no matter how tough the journey is.
